media presentation assignment

SO MY MEDIA PRESENTATION WILL BE ON MONDAY.....KINDA NERVOUS.  Hate standing in front of people and talking.  very self conscious.  But I'm talking on a subject that I know alot about, electronic medical records and the eithical issues that go with it.  I found some of the information very interesting, things that i really didn't know about. So not only was it for an assignment, but it is helpful for my job as well.  Will post more after the presentaton! till monday, have a great rest of the weekend:)

I recently read the book I Shot You Babe by Leslie Langtry.  I normally would not read a book with such a corny title.  My fiance was ready to leave the library, and I absolutley cannot leave without a book being checked out!  This was the first book I saw and grabbed it.  It is a story about an assasin named Coney Bombay.  His entire family are assasins from the time they are 5 years old.  He travels around as a carny yet has multiple degrees from Harvard.  The book is comical with the twist of a love story as well.  I was delightedly surprised.
roots movieRoots the mini series

Sunday I slept in (for the first time in years). When I woke up, my fiance and mother-in-law to be, had just started watching the mini series Roots.  I had read the book but never seen the movie.  I must saw I was truly impressed.  Although, no movie could ever be as good as a book, the characters drew me in.  I think it was actually the story line itself.  I couldnt stop watching it to save my life!  Kunta Kinte himself is a remarkable character.  He has all the attributes that anybody would want.  He has pride in his culture and the strength of ten men.  I admire how he continues to pass the traditions onto his daughter and then her to her son.  The movie is extremely long, but just rivieting enough to keep a type A personality like me engrossed enough to stay up way too late to see the end.

journal assignment

so i finished and turned in my journal assignment.  Found out alot about what and how much media I use in a weeks time.  I never realized how much I multi task with media! lol  Any way, the hardest thing for me was actually ther graph!  I had the roughest time finding a program that would work foir all the data that i had to input.  Thank god I finally was able to get it to work,  I hope that my grade reflects all the hard work I put into this project.  So glad the weekend is finally here.  This Sunday my 2 grandbabies are getting dedicated to the church.  So happy and excited:)

need life to calm down!

Its been a crazy week...my father is 84 and he fell and broke his hip!! He is an extremely healthy older man except for his brain.  After his surgery, he ended up with an ileus(twisting of his bowel) high blood pressure and pneumonia!  It was very iffy that he would make it for a couple days.  What a stressful time for me and my family.  What madeit even worse is that my mother died 3 years ago on February 15.  If my dad had not made it through, I'm not sure how my sister and all of us would have handled it.  Luckily ,through the grace of God, my father is doing so much better!!  The whole time I was worried about my dad, my fiancĂ© decided to do an amazing thing for us both.  He admitted himself into a type of treatment for 30 days!  I miss him being home so much, but I am grateful he has had the strength to make this decision and to follow thru with it.  I truly believe this is gong to save both of our lives.  Like my title said,"life needs to calm down", I am ready for a much needed boring weekend.

Hi,
My name is Brook Morrison.  I am taking this class as part of my requirements for an AA in Addictions Counseling.  I currently have an AS in Radiologic Technology.  I have been a Cat Scan Technologist for 15 years.  Many people think I'm crazy for going back to school. They wonder why I would go for a degree in a profession that I will be making half what I make now.  My reasoning is simple, I love helping people in any way.  I am a recovering addict and believe I can help others obtain a better way of life.  I will never stop being a CT tech, its too much fun!
Between me and my fiance, we have 7 children and 6 grandchildren.  We started our families at an early age!  My favorite thing to do is workout.  Not only is it great for my health, its an amazing stress reliever.  I also love to read.  My favorite author is Janet Evanovich.  She writes the most hysterical books that I actually laugh out loud while reading her books.
I hope to become a more interesting blogger.  This is my first  experience at blogging, so bare with me because I'm sure I will only come up with more interesting things to talk about.
